After graduating from Marshall University in 2006, Josh attended the Appalachian School of Law where he graduated at the top of his class. At the Appalachian School of Law, Josh excelled both academically and with his extracurricular endeavors. In his 3L year, Josh won a national moot court competition beating out teams from schools from across the country, including Duke University and the University of Chicago. Additionally, while attending law school, participating in extracurricular activities, and volunteering for CASA – – Josh worked at a prestigious local law firm.
Upon graduating law school, Josh accepted a position in Abingdon, Virginia serving as a Judicial Law Clerk to a federal judge with the United States District Court for the Western District of Virginia. Subsequently, Josh accepted a position here in Williamson, West Virginia as a Judicial Law Clerk with the 30th Judicial Circuit of West Virginia. After gaining invaluable insight and experience through his clerkships, Josh opened the Ferrell Law Office, PLLC. Josh was able to establish himself as an aggressive litigator capable of handling complex legal matters and Ferrell Law Office, PLLC, was a success. In 2014, Josh combined forces with friend and colleague Nathan Brown to form Ferrell & Brown, PLLC. Josh also served Mingo County, West Virginia as Assistant Prosecuting Attorney. Josh continues to diligently represent clients throughout West Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Virginia.
